Let’s do a little bit of imagery right here and now.
Sit comfortably with your back straight – focus on your breathing, notice your breath flowing in and out, start to close your eyes – gradually relax deeper and deeper. You are relaxing – feel the chatter of your mind become clear and spacious. Please open your eyes, and let’s begin.
In therapy, I believe the therapeutic relationship is an agent of change. By building trust within a safe space, therapy will focus on increasing tolerance and understanding of difficult emotions.
The therapeutic relationship is ever-evolving, and my main goal as your therapist is to work collaboratively to remove obstacles to promote growth and enduring change. In doing so, therapy can achieve the more significant aim of promoting your true self.
I believe that authenticity, curiosity, humor, and empowering yourself with emotional skills can help you move more effectively toward your goals. A nonjudgmental empathetic lens is crucial to our treatment, helping facilitate recovery and corrective emotional experiences.
